  • Alegria's Cancalanog Falls

Somewhere deep in Alegria lies the mystical realm of Cancalanog Falls, often overlooked by tourists because of it's proximity to the famous Kawasan Falls of Badian in the next town. The place boasts of its turqouise pool, beautiful (albeit modest) rock formations, and serene atmosphere---unlike the tourist-heavy neighboring falls of Kawasan.

Getting to Cancalanog Falls, you can board a south-bound bus and get off at Sangi junction in Alegria. From there, you can charter a motorcycle (habal-habal) to take you to the drop off point going to the starting point of the trail leading to the falls. A 20-minute scenic motorcycle ride through the mountains would then ensue, offering you a stunning view of luscious greenery below the mountains.

As you get off from the habal-habal, you can commence walking the 15-20 minute trail leading to the falls itself. Make sure to always be cautious as the trail can get slippery during rainy season. After a short hike through small local communities and various vegetable farms, you will be greeted by the enchanting Cancalanog Falls and bask in its tranquility. Although the place is still not that developed, it has a little establishment offering refreshments and chips.
