• Long Weekend @ Camotes Islands (Part 1)

Day 1: I guess you can say it was quite an unplanned trip. Hotel and transportation reservations were made only the night before we head out to sail to the islands of Camotes last Feb. 22. Leaving the port at Danao by 11am, we braved the rain and mighty currents and managed to arrive unscathed at the Consuelo Port by 1:30pm. We stayed at Mangodlong Paradise Beach Resort for the duration of our trip. It's a lovely little resort which is approximately 5 minutes away from the port area. We couldn't really get around town much during the first day because of the rain, so enjoying the resort amenities was our only option.

Day 2: The sun was smiling on the island and the summer-esque breeze was setting in. But here's the thing, on our way to our first destination, the van broke down. Luckily, we were stopping for gas when we discovered the problem. Well, I guess it's not really an adventure unless someone's car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. That gas station seemed like the only place around within a 5-km radius. It took about 30 minutes for the replacement vehicle to arrive.
